Journey to the West is an upcoming Chinese television series adapted from the Chinese classical novel of the same title. Production for the 50 episodes long series started on 12 September 2009 and it is scheduled to be broadcast in China on CCTV in 2011. The series is produced by Zhang Jizhong[1] and is released a year later than another television series of the same title (broadcast on Zhejiang Satellite TV), but with a different cast and crew.
